SNEP SHIP PMS SPECIALIST - Billet No. 15-4300-08
Job Description:
The mission of Research and Development (RDC) is to provide technical support to the Director, Engineering Support and Research Department (ESRD) in the acquisition and maintenance of ship equipment, ground combat system, combat support equipment and service support equipment.
In addition to providing technical input in hardware, RDC also provides long range maintenance planning and ensures that all necessary elements of support are suitably revised as changes are made to the hardware. Work is conducted primarily in an office with visits to land bases, vessels, supply and repair facilities as required.
The SNEP Ship PMS Specialist is primarily responsible for the development and maintenance of Planned Maintenance System related technical documentation for the SNEP group of ships (PCG/PGG/MSC/PCF/LUC/ etc). Systems equipment involved are both classified and unclassified. Specific tasks include development of RSNF specific Planned Maintenance documentation, modifying USN provided Planned Maintenance documents to reflect RSNF-specific ship configurations and assessment of the effectiveness of SNEP Ship PMS programs. Other tasks include assisting in the identification of trends in maintenance effectiveness, equipment reliability, making recommendations for enhancing equipment operational availability and hull, mechanical and electrical equipment validations
The incumbent should be able to impart to designated RSNF personnel the unique characteristics of the position.
Education and Experience
Associate degree in a technical or management field of study. Must be a graduate of the RSNF/US Navy Planned Maintenance System (PMS) Coordinator course.
At least ten (10) years experience in PMS Management of USN ships to include administration of a shipboard Planned Maintenance and/or generation of PMS Program for ships.
Security Clearance:
U.S. confidential security clearance level will need to be obtained
Salary range:
50,000 to 60,000 (exempt to IRS limitations)
