Job Description:
The mission of RDC is to provide technical support to the Director, Engineering Support and Research Department, in the acquisition and maintenance of ships and ship equipment. This maintenance includes repair, overhaul, and modernization. In addition to providing technical input on hardware RDC also provides long range maintenance planning and ensures that all necessary elements of support are suitably revised as changes are made to the hardware. Work is conducted primarily in an office with occasional visits to ships and repair yards required. The results of RDC studies are provided to those assigning tasks as reports, letters and directives.
The Combat Systems Division Supervisor is responsible for providing engineering expertise to the RDC and other commands. He supervises engineers and technicians in analysis of combat systems problems, provides advice on operation, maintenance and repair, and oversees development and reviews of alterations and field changes.
The incumbent should be able to impart to designated RSNF personnel the unique characteristics of the position
Education and Experience
Baccalaureate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline. A Master degree in an engineering, Business or Management discipline is desirable. Significant appropriate experience can be substituted for academic degrees.
Eighteen (18) years of progressively responsible work experience in the field of maintenance, design and systems integration of ship board combat systems including five (5) years in a supervisor capacity.
Security Clearance:
U.S. secret security clearance level will need to be obtained
Salary range:
40,000 to 50,000 (exempt to IRS limitations)
